shaping my own longboard…
Published June 26th, 2008 in surfingIn the last few years I have really come to enjoy longboarding over shortboarding in most common wave conditions. There is something about the way a longboard glides across the wave, looking mellow, but feeling like a freight train barreling down the tracks. I have owned 2 longboards and ridden half a dozen more and there is something about those classic 1960’s shapes that really catches my eye…
With that in mind, I am absolutely not going to shape my own longboard… (I read somewhere that is how you are supposed to announce your candidacy for president in an upcoming election… by climbing on the closest stump and thumping your chest.)
So check back soon as I begin to elaborate on my not so novel idea…I’ll be posting my comments, my plans, some videos, where to find information, and enough documentation to get you started should you have a similar mid-life crisis/epiphany.
Thanks to perfect wave surfboards (www.perfectwave.com) I now know exactly what i should be thinking about when I get started!
Cheers and happy shaping…
