The Sun Also Rises: Update 1

6:15 I waxed both the 9′6″ Yater Spoon and my 6′2′ Santa Cruz. Then I rewaxed them. My wet suit is laying near the heater so that its warm and flexible. I managed to hit up 7-11 for a cup of coffee and a powerade. I should be all set to surf for a few hours. I’ve made the trek down to holgate and back to check the wave. So far so good. The wind is a gentle west to west north west. Just about straight offshore. Through the fog and haze i was able to see some decent sized sets rolling in with passable lines. Maybe the sun will make it look a little better.

This is an interior and southern buoy. Since the waves are moving up from the south east, it will give us the bare minimum look at what we should see out there this morning.

The two big offshore buoys, Montauk NY and Hotel (Cape May NJ) should give us the max as they are about 200 miles offshore. Take a peek at this graph and get excited:

6:41 The black skies are just starting to turn battleship grey. That means its time to get the boards out and strapped on the Xterra. Then I’ll round up the crew, crawl, kick, fight and cuss my way into my wetsuit and hit the beach.

Go baby go…the first head high –> overhead sets of the fall should be rolling in shortly. You know for sure the 5th Street Posse will be there to tear them apart
