Welcome to the Whistler Page. I’ll be chronicling my first trip out west to snowboard. I’ve been boarding for going on 9 years and have never made it past the Mississippi River to hit the pow runs. Kinda sad isn’t it?So first and foremost; Here is the main Whistler Mountain Website I’ll be flying out Sunday Jan. 28th from NY La Guardia airport on a CanadaAir flight to Vancouver BC. From there we catch a shuttle, or flag down Santa and his reindeer or something like that. I’m prepared to hike the last 100 miles barefoot if need be.
BOK’s cabin is a dream come true. It sleeps 7 people comfortably. Its got its own hot tub for crying out loud. Being a short 8 minute walk to the Main Gondola doesn’t hurt either. I think I’m all set, I’ve got extra clothes, extra bindings, and a scarred battle-tested helmet and an extra dose of testosterone to push me over the edge.

Check back regularly as I’ll be posting pictures, videos, stories, and comments regularly throughout the trip.
UPDATE:
I put together a quick slideshow of some of the pictures I have taken so far here in B.C.. You’ll see a few shots from the air as we circled the airport. The city shots are of Vancouver on the drive to Whistler. The rest are from Whistler Peak and BlackComb. The downside to being the camera man is that you are behind the lens and not in front of it. No matter, the snowboarding has been absolutely amazing, and the nightlife just as fun. Enjoy…

Hi Everybody;
I just wanted to let you know I have lived through 3 days of Whistler/Blackcomb. Today might have been the best day of all. We headed to the Nintendo Terrain Park and Super pipe. That’s right the mountain is so big that it gets sponsors for its different parks. This one happened to be the biggest with jumps about 5-8 ft high with 10-15ft of flat-ground to clear. I managed to not break myself too badly. I did decide halfway through a 360 that I didn’t really want to do it any more. Bad idea and I landed on my ass, elbow, and head. Thank the lord for that ugly red helmet. Anyways I had a great time on the tabletops, spines and wide flat rails. This could be a yearly trip.
I have a few more days to iron out that 360 and then its time to head home for the SuperBowl. And then there is that Appleton Rum Summit to Base Race on Friday. I only hope you get to sample the Appleton before the start so you have the cojones to push a little faster
